About

Welcome to Berkeley Academy

Founded in 2013 by Peter J. Swing and Yorlenny Aguilar in Santa Ana, Costa Rica, Berkeley Academy was built on the belief that a truly international, multicultural education gives students the perspective to change the world for the better.

Now a college-preparatory school serving 350 students from the U.S., Costa Rica, and dozens of countries around the world, Berkeley Academy is the first College Board Institutional Member in Costa Rica — held to academic standards unparalleled in Central America.

We are a community founded on honor, prestige, and excellence, where integrity, discipline, and character are hallmark traits in our faculty, staff, and, most importantly, our students.

Our Commitments

To Multicultural Education

Raising awareness of multicultural diversity has been a Berkeley Academy hallmark since our founding in 2013 — it's in our name, and in every classroom.

To Community Service

Every graduate completes 100 certified community service hours between Grades 9 and 12 — because knowledge without service is incomplete.
