One of Our Eight School Virtues
Service is named directly among Berkeley Academy's School Virtues — honesty, courage, temperance, integrity, service, benevolence, order, and justice.
Community Service
Knowledge without service is incomplete.
Berkeley Academy's mission is to develop and empower students to positively impact their communities — one of the five commitments in our PRIDE framework. That commitment is put into practice through a formal graduation requirement and a student-led club dedicated to service.

Graduation Requirement
A total of 100 certified community service hours is required for graduation, beginning from Grade 9 through Grade 12. This requirement sits alongside the 20-page Senior Honors Thesis required of every 12th grader — together, they reflect Berkeley Academy's belief that academic excellence and service to others go hand in hand.
Berkeley Academy Soup Kitchen (BASK)
BASK is Berkeley Academy's signature student-led service club, putting the school's values of honor and service into action through regular community outreach. It's one of the clearest expressions of the “Develop” commitment in our PRIDE framework — developing and empowering students to positively impact their communities.
