Berkeley Academy for Multicultural Studies is an exclusive, private PreK-12th Grade, U.S.-Costa Rican school dedicated to academic excellence and providing a comprehensive multicultural and ethnic studies high school curriculum. Construction plans include an impressive fully-equipped sports gymnasium, a soccer pitch with official regulation dimensions and layout, semi-Olympic swimming pool, amphitheater, two mini-auditoriums, one large-sized auditorium, student-faculty cafeteria, four student-research laboratories, four library learning resource centers, art studio, game hall- arcade, activity center, a majestic bell tower and 60 classrooms. The campus will be decorated in a manner that rivals most elite U.S. universities.
Berkeley Academy’s construction of the high performance sports complex will include an impressive, fully-equipped sports gymnasium, soccer pitch with official regulation dimensions and layout, eight-lane track, semi-Olympic swimming pool, amphitheater, coach’s film room, home/visitors players lockers, male/female showers/dressing rooms, and activity center. The campus and sports facilities will be decorated in a manner that rivals most elite U.S. universities.
The total capital investment for Berkeley Academy’s High Performance Sports Complex is projected to be $1.7 million covering four phases of construction. The complex will be the home of the Berkeley Academy Lions (all grades and school teams), a Division II soccer team (still under negotiation), and the Costa Rican Soccer Development Academy.
Berkeley Academy has provided its high school students opportunities to compete for athletic scholarships in NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA universities and colleges in the U.S. Berkeley Academy has participated in athletic recruiting events, ID camps and combines at the University of San Francisco, University of California, Berkeley, San Francisco State University, MLS Colorado Rapids, and placed second at the Real Colorado Cup 2016. We comprehensively prepare all of our student-athletes to obtain recruiting opportunities and exposure in the U.S.
We are currently working with current and former Costa Rican professional soccer players to establish the Costa Rican Soccer Development Academy (CRSDA). The CRSDA will provide Costa Rica’s first comprehensive training facility to develop the nation’s most gifted athletes to compete globally.
